The Center for Security Policy (CSP) is a conservative, Washington, D.C.-based think tank. The organization's founder and current president is Frank Gaffney Jr. The organization's mission statement is "To identify challenges and opportunities likely to affect American security", where main activities are focused on exposing and researching what it believes to be jihadist threats to the United States. The Center has been accused of engaging in conspiracy theorizing by a range of individuals, media outlets and organizations. It has been described as "not very highly respected" by BBC News. In 2016, the Southern Poverty Law Center described the CSP as a hate group and a "conspiracy-oriented mouthpiece for the growing anti-Muslim movement"

Attack on Huma Abedin
The Center for Security Policy made a claim that Huma Abedin was a spy for the Muslim Brotherhood. This claim was done pushed by Michele Bachmann and other right wing lawmakers. Then-speaker of the house, John Boehner, and Marco Rubio came out against this, with Boehner saying it was a serious allegation with nothing to back it up. (1)
Missile defense logo paranoia
The Center for Security Policy originated a conspiracy theory that the Obama administration manipulated the redesign of the Missile Defense Agency to look like his campaign logo. This theory then evolved to claims that the new logo incorporates the Islamic crescent as well. Only one problem with this is that this logo was changed before the 2008 election. (2)
